MANILA – Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founding chairman Joma Sison responded positively to pronouncements made by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte that he was willing to form a coalition with the CPP should he decide to run for president.

To serve the Filipino people, especially the toiling masses of workers and peasants, along the line of national liberation and democracy against foreign monopoly capitalism, domestic feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism, and thus to pave the way for a fundamentally new and better future.

CPP-NDF sets prelude to peace talks
THE Communist Party of the Philippines-National Democratic Front is seeking the release of its consultants, including detained top rebel leaders Benito and Wilma Tiamzon, CPP founding chairman Jose Ma. Sison said.

NEGOTIATIONS to end the longest-running communist insurgency in the world will likely resume after the visit of Pope Francis in January, a breakthrough in the three-year impasse in talks that started 28 years ago, according to Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Ma. Sison.
